SIMUNJAN, 10 January, 2020 – Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) today continues its digital inclusivity programme under the new name ‘Rindok Digital’. Rindok Digital @ Simunjan signifies the beginning of a series of program to enhance the competency and readiness of all communities for Digital Economy. 

 

 

The event was held at Simunjan, Samarahan in collaboration with Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Sarawak (MANRED) and other government agencies. 

 

The Right Honourable Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg graced the launch event accompanied by Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah anak Embas, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development, together with Dr. Zaidi bin Razak, General Manager of Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA). 

 

“The launching of Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) Rindok Digital @ Simunjan today by the Right Honourable Chief Minister of Sarawak signifies the determination of the State Government in ensuring the communities are ready the Sarawak Digital Economy. More and more things are going digital and automated, hence we need to quickly learn, adopt and adapt and not going backward and left behind”, according to Dr. Zaidi bin Razak, General Manager of SMA. 


The three (3) day program includes exhibitions by MANRED, Land and Survey, Sarawak Women Welfare Department, Sarawak Pay, Old Kuching Smart Heritage (OKSHE), Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), Pustaka PANDei, Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS), Wataniah Sarawak and Positive Mind Sdn. Bhd. on Smart Farming. Other programs that will be organised are Digital Economy Talks, STEM Program, Bakat Kamek Concert and Stand-Up Comedy, Colouring Contest, eSports Tournament,  PANDei Program, Internet of Things Smart Farming Demo, Fruits and Vegetable Decoration Contest by MANRED, Bergendang and Nopeng Competition, Free Rabies Vaccination by Department Veterinary Sarawak and lucky draws.

 

 

Under the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2018-2025 (Digital Inclusivity: Action 47), the State Government through SMA aims to establish a digital-ready community through developing digital skills and inclusive digital participation.
