KUCHING, 15th April 2021 – The Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), in
supporting the concerted efforts of the Parent Teacher Association (PIBG) of SMK
Green Road to help the school to be digitally equipped, today handed over 10 LED
projectors and screens to the association at the Chief Minister’s Office.
Receiving the equipment from Dr. Zaidi Bin Razak, General Manager of SMA was En.
Lee Joon Hua, the deputy YDP PIBG SMK Green Road. The ceremony was witnessed
by YAB Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari, Datuk Amar Michael Manyin anak Jawong,
Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research (MESTR) and Datu Dr.
Sabariah binti Putit, Deputy State Secretary (Performance and Service Delivery
Transformation).
SMK Green Road used the occasion to showcase how a school runs her STEM classes
for Form 4 and 5 students. Since the introduction of such classes in 2020, the effort
has resulted in a few notable achievements by her students. These include being the
respective champion of the Young Scientist Programme 2020 at the national and state
level. The additional LED projectors and screens will mean that more STEM classes
can to be conducted with minimal disruption.
‘Not only teachers, but parents also play an important role to help to improve the
learning environment of the students.’ ‘PIBG SMK Green Road is always supportive
towards students who participate in STEM competitions. We fund their pocket money,
or we help to pay with their participation fees.’ elaborated Dr Dzulzalani Bin Eden, YDP

“Strengthening the current STEM and ICT education in primary, secondary and tertiary
institutions is a strategic action of the State Digital Economy agenda’ highlighted Dr
Zaidi Bin Razak, General Manager of SMA.
‘The Authority has been working with MESTR since 2019 to build and support a ground
swell of digital skills and talents in educational institutions to meet the demands of the
state digital economy’.
